Prehistoric Farm Fishing, Diving & the Mosasaurus Boss
The official description lists four sea activities: fish the open sea, dive for rare catches, sneak into the Sunken Grotto to steal sea reptile eggs, and team up to take down the giant Mosasaurus with spears. Here is what our sources show of each.
Fishing
- Bait first. Fishing needs bait, bought near the dock. You run out mid-session, so buy a stack.
- Cast with timing. A good cast shows “Perfect throw”. Then wait for a bite and reel in.
- Catches seen: mackerel (the most common), sardine, puffer fish, swordfish. Two swordfish in a row was called lucky.
- Value: 5 to 10 coins each when sold. Keep them as dino food instead.
Fishing is the natural thing to do while an egg incubates.
Diving
Diving finds rare catches, per the official description. No footage of a dive has been posted yet, so we have no list of what it finds. We will add it once there is a source.
The Sunken Grotto
The Grotto hides sea reptile eggs that you steal (the official word is “sneak”). It is how you get a sea reptile without a Dr. Ivy trade. The fossil menu’s sixth period, Cretaceous Seas, matches this part of the game.
The Mosasaurus fight
The Mosasaurus is the game’s open-sea boss and the creature on the game icon.
- It is a group fight. The game says to team up with other players; servers hold 6.
- One player who reached it (XFlames, Oct 5) reports the fight gives you a spear to bring its health down, and that taking part earns a reward.
- The same video calls it an event that pops up, with a cutscene.
Real Mosasaurus was a sea lizard up to about 12 m long from the late Cretaceous, not a dinosaur. More on the real animals: fossil sets.
Getting out to sea
Any boat works for nearby water. The Aquatic Dinosaur from code SORRYFORDELAYS replaces your boat (codes), and bigger boats are on the shovels and boats page.
Thanks. Happy digging.
